On 10/19/22 at 17:32 CHFD were dispatched for a reported entrapment in a gorge by West Remington Road. Chief 261, Assistant Chiefs 263 and 264, Rescue 241 and Engine 203 Responded. IFD was requested en route for their rope rescue team.
On Scene, a male was located in the gorge in cardiac arrest. The crew from 241 provided aid to the patient along with Bangs Ambulance units, while 203's crew assisted IFD 942 to set up a low angle rope rescue system. The patient was stabilized, extricated and transported to CMC by Bangs Ambulance.
The Scene was turned over to CHPD. All CHFD units returned in service by 18:45. We would like to thank the other responding agencies for their assistance, including the Ithaca Fire Department, Bangs Ambulance and the Cayuga Heights Police Department.
