Early in the morning at around 4:30am, CHFD was requested mutual-aid by IFD to the scene of a multi house fire on the 400 block of Stewart Avenue, in the City of Ithaca. Engine 202 and Truck 231, with full crews, assisted IFD with fire suppression throughout the morning.
Working alongside members of the Ithaca Fire Department and Lansing Fire Department, firefighters managed to prevent the spread of the fire to dangerously exposed neighboring buildings.
The fire was declared knocked-down later in the morning, and the last Cayuga Heights unit cleared the scene around 10:15am.
