On 03/07/21 at 06:53 Cayuga Heights fire department was dispatched for smoke showing from the roof of house on Hanshaw road. CHFD Engine 203, Ladder 231, Engine 202, Chief 261, Asst. Chief 263, Asst. Chief 264, support 244 responded. 203 and 261 were en route at 06:55 and arrived at 06:57. Mutual aid was provided by Bangs Ambulance, Lansing Engine 1105, Cayuga Heights Police Department and Tompkins County Sheriff's Office
203 made entry and found a light smoke condition coming from the ceiling of the laundry room on the first floor. The ceiling was pulled, and the fire was located in the attic. 203 pulled handlines, and attacked the fire from the attic and laundry room. The fire was knocked down by 07:23, and overhaul was conducted.
All CHFD units decontaminated and were cleared by 261. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. All CHFD units clear and back in service
