On 7/13/22 at 14:43 CHFD was dispatched for a Brush Fire. Engine 203, Engine 202, Utility 242, and Chief 262 responded. En route it was reported that the porch of the structure was on fire, and the response was upgraded to a working structure fire.
On scene, smoke was visible from the rear of the structure, and the deck and dry grass was on fire. A 2” hand-line was pulled from 203, and the fire was knocked down. The fire was stopped from extending inside of the property. 202 arrived and assisted with manpower.
All CHFD units were returned in service by 15:18. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Many thanks for the work of the other agencies on scene, including CHPD, Cayuga Heights DPW, Lansing Fire and Bangs Ambulance.
