This morning at 04:31 CHFD was dispatched on an automatic aid assignment to the Village of Lansing for a reported structure fire. CHFD 261, 203, 231, and 202 responded.
Car 261 and Engine 203 arrived on scene to find heavy fire showing from a balcony on the C side of the structure, with flames showing from an apartment door on the front of the structure. Units quickly deployed multiple hand lines and forced entry into the fire apartment. Inside, E203’s crew encountered heavy fire with extension to the third floor and the attic through an exterior void space. Crews utilized multiple hand lines to control the fire, in addition to effecting searches of multiple units for occupants.
