On July 13 at 21:22, CHFD was requested mutual aid for a residential structure fire in Lansing. Callers stated that the siding was on fire and that there were flames coming through the roof. The incident was accompanied by a significant thunderstorm which became more severe as the situation progressed, presenting an additional hazard. Engine 202 arrived and sent firefighters into the house to help extinguish the fire. The scene was brought under control in just under an hour.
In addition to Lansing and Cayuga Heights, units from Bangs Ambulance, Freeville FD, Groton FD, NYSEG, Tompkins County Emergency Response, and Tompkins County Sheriffs were also dispatched.
