At 0414 on November 14, CHFD was dispatched automatic mutual aid to University Heights Apartments in Lansing for a report of a fire alarm with smoke showing. Command 261 and a fully crewed Engine 203 responded and established command and fire attack, followed shortly by Ladder 231 and Engine 202. A small fire was contained to the kitchen of a basement apartment by the 203 crew and although there were no human casualties, two cats regrettably did not survive the incident.
Units from Bangs Ambulance, New York State Police, and the Tompkins County Sheriff's Department, and Lansing Fire Department also assisted on scene.
