On 8/20/22 at 01:52 CHFD was requested mutual aid to Lansing for a reported structure fire. Engine 203, Ladder 231 and Chief 261 responded.
261 arrived on scene and found fire from the rear of the structure on the third floor balcony. One crew from 203 pulled a 300ft 2’’ handline to the rear of the building and knocked down the fire. A second crew from 203 pulled a backup line to the door and performed a primary search of the residence. No hazards were found, and the crew ventilated the structure. 231 provided additional manpower. All CHFD units were released by Lansing command and back in service by 0300.
Great work by all on scene, including Lansing Fire Department, Bangs Ambulance and TCSO. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by NYS OFPC.
