At 01:43 this morning, CHFD was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the village. Chief 261 arrived on scene and assumed command while Engine 203 and Ladder 231 started an interior attack. Within a few minutes, the fire was knocked down. Thankfully, the homeowner was able to contain the fire to a single room before evacuating by closing the door to that room. This quick thinking helped prevent more significant fire spread.
